报道中的ticket scalping就是“倒卖门票”，这里着重谈下单词scalp。

Scalp原指“头皮”。到了17世纪，scalp延伸为“战利品”——北美印第安人与敌人交战时，若取胜，常把对方的头皮剥下来作为“战利品”。再之后，scalp指“转手倒卖并从中获利”，可做动词，如to scalp tickets to the baseball game（倒卖棒球比赛的门票）。

相应的，贩卖门票的“黄牛”可用ticket scalper来形容。如例句：We've got ticket to the "sting" concert from a scalper outside the stadium.（我们在体育场外从票贩子手里买了“斯汀”演唱会的门票。）另外，在英国俚语中，spiv也可用来指代“黄牛”。
